What we stand for:

We are all equally “alive”. There are not many things known to us that are alive in the known universe and almost all live on Earth. As “alive”, we share common characteristics: we require nutrients to survive, we procreate, we grow, and we die.

If life is something to value, plant life must be valued too.

Despite years of scientific research, our knowledge of plants is limited. Humans can't comprehend what is happening inside of plants. Many humans believe since plants do not have a brain (the organ that makes us so proud of ourselves) or nervous system, as we know it as animals, plants are less alive than us. Many believe that it’s okay to kill a plant because plants “don’t feel it”.

Killing a plant is not different than killing an animal. It is true, we won't see the sadness or pain or watch it begging for mercy when it’s killed. Therefore, some may conclude plants don't want to live, because these reactions are not communicated to us in an understandable way.

Unfortunately, we need to kill or exploit to survive. Almost everything we eat had a life at some point, but we go far beyond killing for food. We kill for profit and we kill for fun.

Plantights.org strives for there to be appreciation of plants. We urge you to respect and value plants we eat and minimize killing plants for profit and fun.

Our goal:

Convey a love of plants and understand the balance and equality of all living things through education and technology.
